July 25 | Day 206 – “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”(Psalm 19:14) LOVE this Psalm of David’s today! David is praying that not only his heart be pleasing to the Lord, but the words He speaks as well! Sometimes we can say things that don’t match what’s in our hearts whether it’s to fit in with our peers, speaking out in anger or frustration, or any other type of sinful talk. These are the words that we usually regret later and bring us shame. God already knows what’s in our hearts, shouldn’t what we present to the world reflect those same inner thoughts and feelings? We can’t let the enemy pull us into sin—into speaking false or harmful words to others. These words aren’t just harmful to others, but to ourselves as well, they weaken our relationship with our God. Pray for patience, strength—whatever you need to stand firm and speak words that are pleasing to the Lord. ????
